Craig Wagner’s unique approach to fingerstyle guitar includes equal amounts of jazz, funk, blues, rock, pop, bluegrass, and country flavorings. He turns the guitar into a whole musical combo with adventurous techniques incorporating two-handed tapping, polyrhythms, walking bass, banjo rolls, exotic chords, and moving inner voices. His forte is composition and arranging. In this video lesson he presents eye-popping reworkings of the jazz standards Caravan and Cherokee, Herbie Hancock’s Chameleon and Stevie Wonder’s Superstition.
