Dr. Jessica Edwards is a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician. She is a native of Cedar Hill, Texas and a second generation Physician. Growing up watching her father provide care to the entire community, she knew from a young age that she wanted to do the same. She graduated from the University of North Texas Health Science Center- Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth and completed her Family Medicine Residency Training at Care Point Health-Christ Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey and she is the recipient of the 2016 American Osteopathic Foundation Resident of the Year in Family Medicine award. She attended University of Rochester Medical Center for a Maternal Child Health Fellowship. She has received certification to perform Botox and Filler from Aesthetic Medical Educator Training, certification perform Microneedling, the O-Shot, Vampire Facial, and the Green Peel. She sees patients of all ages and she specializes in obstetrics and newborn care. Through a compassionate approach, Dr. Edwards strives to improve the experiences of patients when they go to the doctor. She moved back to Texas to address healthcare disparities, improve access to healthcare and improve the maternal mortality rate. In addition, she was recently selected to be a 2019-2020 Osteopathic Health Policy Fellow and she was selected for the Prestigious Top Healthcare Leaders Under 40 by the National Medical Association Post Graduate Section. She is National President of the Committee of Interns and Residents, America's largest union of Resident Physicians and advocates for Physician work-life balance. In January 2020, she was elected Vice-Chair of the Obstetrics Department at Resolute Hospital. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband, Domonic and their son Franklin.
