In this lecture, Dr. Bryan Snyder will discuss initial settings on Mechanical Ventilators.
Learning Objectives:
· Select appropriate starting vent settings.
· Recognize patients for whom their vent settings need adjustment.
· Use common strategies for liberating patients from a mechanical ventilator.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. Brian Snyders, DO is currently on faculty at Mercy Hospital, St. Louis. In this position, he serves as teaching faculty for Mercy St. Louis and Saint Louis University Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program. A 2011 graduate of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Snyders is board certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine.
