Description
This workshop will discuss how to both assure that the Court has a thorough understanding of your client’s problems and to completely and persuasively present the evidence. You want to give the ALJ a short pitch no more than 3 minutes, then create a verbal picture story that your client is real, human, suffering and that any blemishes are easily mitigated.

Patrick O’Neal earned a B.S. degree in 1986 from McNeese State University and his J.D. in 1991 from the Paul M. Herbert Law Center at Louisiana State University. He was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1991 and the New Mexico Bar in 1994 (inactive). After serving as Judicial Clerk for the Hon. U. Gene Thibodeaux on the Louisiana Court of Appeal, Third Circuit, he became a Senior Trial Prosecutor in the Crimes Against Children Unit of the Albuquerque District Attorney’s Office. Subsequently, he entered civil litigation and handled thousands of personal injury and wrongful death asbestos lawsuits. For the past seven years he has practiced Social Security Disability law exclusively. He currently manages the disability law practice at McDonald Law Firm. Mr. O’Neal lives in Fort Worth, TX with his wife.

Patrick Ray is currently a Senior Attorney at McDonald Law Firm where he heads the firm’s Birmingham office. The firm's principal office is located in Fort Worth. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida and attended the University of Florida post-baccalaureate. Mr. Ray earned his J.D. from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 1993. While in law school, he was a member of the Trial Advocacy Board. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1994 and thereafter to all Alabama federal districts. In 2014, he was admitted to practice in the Northern District of Texas. Mr. Ray has handled numerous plaintiff’s civil litigation matters in all Alabama state and federal courts, including over 50 personal injury jury trials. He focuses his practice on representing claimants in Social Security Disability matters from reconsideration and hearing through federal district court. Mr. Ray practices mainly in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. He is a past NOSSCR presenter on “The Anatomy of Top Disability Claims”, Las Vegas 2014 and for the National Business Institute. Mr. Ray has been married to his wife, Carla Carden Ray, since 1992, who is also an attorney. Mr. Ray lives in Birmingham with his wife, their three children and Jack the Boston terrier. They are active members of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church.
