Description
Many practitioners spend little time completing or helping clients complete the various reports such as Adult Function and Work History reports. Yet the same practitioner yells in frustration when the claimant loses his case because the ALJ found him or her “less than fully credible.” These reports can and should be used to build your case. This seminar will show you strategies for using these reports at hearings to support a favorable credibility finding. This workshop will help you train your staff in the best practices to complete the reports, how best to word the response, how to inform the claimants of how these reports should be completed. Using these reports properly will make it difficult—if not impossible—for an ALJ to deny a case due to the claimant’s “extensive daily activities.”

Dana Duncan – is a native Wisconsinite, who has experience and understanding of what clients are going through – his mother was a diabetic who went blind due to retinopathy in her 40’s. He watched her cry over having to quit the job she loved and fight Social Security to gain her benefits. He also looked on as his father fought an insurance company over a back injury, then fought the Veteran’s Administration to give him his VA rating, then fought Social Security to give him disability benefits when his military injuries and age forced him to quit working later in life. He has built his career to assist those who need his aid. For these reasons, Duncan Disability Law was established in 2011, after having worked with disability claimants since 1989. He has represented hundreds of disabled clients throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota in Social Security law and Worker’s Compensation. Attorney Duncan has become a well-known Social Security and Worker’s Compensation attorney. In 2011 NOSSCR convention in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Duncan graduated Marquette University Law School – Law JD – Juris Doctor 1969.

Christine Duncan – her love of people and her compassion towards those with disabilities began in her youth and developed after meeting her in-laws who suffered with blindness, diabetes, cancer and lung problems, and after her own father became deaf from Meniere's disease. This merged into full-time work with Attorney Dana Duncan in August of 2008. Christine was Dana’s sole assistant doing both Social Security and Worker’s Compensation when all levels of Social Security became her specialty. Christine has helped clients file initial claims and work through the entire administrative process, even into the Federal realm, filing District Court cases. Since forming Duncan Disability Law, she has become EDPNA (passed May 2016) qualified and does the majority of the office training and serves as the Office Manager. She graduated University of Wisconsin, Lacrosse, 1989 and EDPNA qualified, May 2016 and is currently a NOSSCR member.

Joshua Peterson – Originally from the Wisconsin Rapids area, Josh started with Duncan Disability Law in 2013 as a part-time medical information coordinator His current position is as the Business Manager/Non-Attorney Claimant’s Representative. Josh handles all aspects of the administrative side of Social Security claims and responds to clients on a daily basis during this process. This position requires a person to have significant knowledge of the Social Security laws and rules. Josh assumed the added responsibility of a Non-Attorney Claims Representative, after passing the EDPNA exam in May 2016, with passion and vigor, quickly grasping the intricate rules and regulations and serving as mentor to our staff. Josh joined professional Social Security organizations, NOSSCR and NADR, has Master’s in Business Administration from Capella University, 2010 and EDPNA qualified, May 2016
