This presentation will inform physicians about the resources they may have available to them and their patients through the health sciences libraries across Texas. Resources freely available from the National Library of Medicine will also be discussed. Libraries as it relates to the greater topic of risk management will be discussed as well.

Sajid Surve Related seminars and products: 2
Sajid A. Surve, DO, FAOCPMR is an Associate Professor with the UNTHSC Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also Co-Director of the UNT Texas Center for Performing Arts Health. Dr. Surve is currently board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, neuromusculoskeletal medicine, and pain medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Surve has distinguished himself as an educator and leader. He has given lectures at the local, regional, and national levels on various topics including osteopathic manipulation, medical acupuncture, complementary and alternative therapies, responsible opioid prescribing, and performing arts medicine.

Darell Schmick is responsible for establishing the library service for the SOM campus and ensuring that the students, faculty, and staff at UIWSOM have the resources they need for their academic and scholarly success. Additionally, Mr. Schmick provides literature searches and evidence-based medicine (EBM) instruction. Mr. Schmick holds a MLS degree from Emporia State University and a graduate certificate in Organizational Change from the University of Missouri.
