Zerka Moreno (2000) emphasizes the importance of spontaneity and creativity while demonstrating with Christi, who is asked to see her family photo and then construct it on stage using volunteers from the audience. These volunteers act as “auxiliary egos.” Following this demonstration Moreno plays all of the characters in a rolereversal she did with her 3 year-old son.
Educational Objectives:
- Given a case, illustrate two ways psychodrama can be used as a treatment modality.
- Given a case, show how role reversal can provide new understanding of a situation.

Moreno is honorary president of the American Society of Psychodrama and Group Psychotherapy; president of the Moreno Workshops; and honorary member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Group Psychotherapy.
Zerka is the author and co-editor of many books and articles in the field of group psychotherapy and internationally known as a teacher, therapist and lecturer.
